My dad didn't allow glitter at all and even threw out some glitter socks and sweatshirts I received as gifts. He was sure that glitter caused cancer and that it would get on the floor and be picked up by our cats, thus causing damage to their digestive systems when they washed themselves. (My dad had a very long mental list of things that he thought caused cancer.) I didn't know anyone else who wasn't permitted glitter, so I loved it that Mallory was in the same boat as me.
