the best friends you’ll never have

I wrote a post and wordpress ate it. Super.

It was about how Mary Anne is how Ann wishes people see her, but inside she feels like nerdy, mouse story-writing Mallory. Mallory is the only BSC-er who is not attractive. Mallory is the repository of all of Ann’s insecurities. And that is why Mal was sent to boarding school.

hmmm makes sense. Ann did say that mary Anne was modeled after her…but of course… she IS a writer…. like Mallory… interesting…hmmm…

I never really thought about that, to be honest. I remember reading somewhere that Ann’s little sister Jane was sporty and that Ann herself was more of an academic. Even though Mallory seems at first to be the token big saddo of the BSC, she is the one with the big family and large group of friends who all love her, know about her writing and don’t make fun of her.
Fair enough, Mallory is bullied at school. However, she then gets the chance to start a new life away at boarding school and really succeed in her studies.

Fuck, I hate Mallory.

In a letter in a bsc book, i think in ”hello mallory’, Ann wrote a letter saying that she constantly compared herself to mary Anne, but was also alot like mal. so maybe that’s why she is being sent to the boarding school. Aww, but Dawn already left, too!

the reason why mallory left was because of the bullies at school
who called her spaz girl
and would constantly make fun of her and stuff

when did Ann say this stuff? I just went to her signing last night and she said Kristy was the one she always wished she could be like (her Tyler Durden if you will) and Maryanne was the one she really was like. Kind of seemed like she (and the rest of the room) didn’t care much for Mallory.

She’s always said that she relates to Mary Anne; the rest of it is just my own personal theories.

i think ann m martin also based mallory on herself too
cause i remember reading a letter in the end of book 14; hello mallory
where ann m martin said she was also like mallory
(especially when she hates wearing braces herself)
not to mention mallory is always writing
and ann is a writer herself
so yeah
i think mallory is more like ann m martin herself
than mary anne

Mary Anne is Anne M Martins Mary Sue. It even has a cool word coolness to it. Mary Anne. Mary = Mary Sue. Anne = Anne M Martin. I always think about that.
