Stoneybrookite

the best friends you’ll never have

Original post here, you can play along there, in the comments, or on your own blog.

Kristy and the Missing Child has always been my least favorite, and I don’t even know why. It is probably the one that I have reread the least, and not just because I always seem to lose it for years at a time. It’s just… a kid going missing is a pretty frightening thing, but you know that nothing Actually Bad is going to happen to Jake, because that is too much for a BSC book. But also the Kuhn family isn’t one I can bring myself to care about too much, either.

Also, this may have one of the Worst Mary Anne moments in the series, where Mary Anne can’t bring herself to give a shit about Jake Kuhn because SHE’S HAVING PROBLEMS IN HOME EC. Get a grip, lady. It’s HOME EC. A kid is missing and all she cares about is that she sucks at cooking? Crises bring out our true characters, and Mary Anne is a turd.

Isn’t this the one where Mary Anne Saves the Day by making finger jello? she should know that Gabbie Perkins can probably do that, too.

I never read about half the mysteries, I don’t think my library had many in stock. Although looking at a list of them all, what the heck is Kristy and the Vampires?? It sounds ridiculous!

@hobbes12: They work on the set of one of Derek Masters’s movies, which is being filmed in the ‘Brook.
